Where We Were on Grand Cayman

  • Diving facilities were provided by Ocean Frontiers. We can't say enough good things about this great dive shop. Not only were they friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, they were spectacularly accomodating to our needs, doing extra night dives for us and lending us course materials for several of our group to do enriched air and advanced open water certifications at the last minute. You can reach them at (345) 947-7500.
  • While on Grand Cayman we stayed at the Sunsets Reach villas on Frank Sound Beach.

The Cayman Crew, 2000 The Grand Cayman Crew, September 2000: Ken Regelman, Geordie "Goose" Klueber, Mike Geldner, Chris Hanson, Curt Harpold, and yours truly on the Nauti-Cat. The five of us on the right are all Sun alumni and the fact that we had no female companions along this time lent the week a bachelor party quality that we're not used to having on a dive trip!

During our stay we holed up at a great beach house right on the water on Grand Cayman's east end. The east end is a lot quieter than the more popular Seven-Mile Beach on the west end, but we preferred the more pristine diving and small-town ambience.

As a personal milestone, I was able to complete my underwater navigator certification, finishing up the requirements for my Master Scuba Diver rating.
